Katie Heinrichs - Owner
My love and admiration for dogs all started with a Basset Hound named Mya when I was 12 years old. For the next 12 years after that, she was my little heart beat at my feet. Always waiting for me to get home from school or taking over my bed, making me laugh with those ears and continuously making me smile. She was a prime example of what every dog aims to be. She was loyal, dependable, trustworthy, and loving. Sadly in August she crossed the Rainbow Bridge, after years of being my best friend she earned her pair of wings! After everything she gave me, I decided it was time I do something to give back to the canine world! That is why I opened up The Dog Loft!
In March 2011 I adopted Olivia, a Rottweiler x Doberman from the Winnipeg Humane Society and in September of 2013 I added to my little family by adopting Tiger Lily, also known as Tilly, a Rottweiler x Greater Swiss Mountain Dog from Happy Tails Adoption Centre. These two ladies are the centre of my world and everything I do, I do for them!
Now that you know a little bit about me, I would love to get to know you and your pooch! My personal goal for The Dog Loft is to provide each and every pooch that drags their owner through the door, with a safe place where they can feel at home and have the time of their life! I encourage you all to try any one of our wonderful services and offer feedback! I value your thoughts and opinions! After all, if it wasn’t for your pampered canine, The Dog Loft wouldn’t be here!

Jordan - Client Care
From the gentle mutt Wylie I fell in love with when I was 5 years old, to the two big goofballs Kipper and Budweiser that make every day an adventure, dogs have been the best part of my life. There’s an incredible feeling that comes from understanding and helping an animal that depends fully on you reading their body language as a means of communication. Each dog is so special and different and I absolutely love getting to learn all of the little quirks that make them unique. I look forward to getting to know each and every one off your fur babies!
Larissa- Client Care
My name is Larissa! I absolutely love animals. I grew up with many different animals such as dogs, cats, a chinchilla, a hamster, and a bearded dragon. I am a proud mom to my beautiful daughter and my fur babies include a Husky mix named Aria, a Bulldog mix named Ruby, and a cat named Simba. Ever since I was young I wanted to be a veterinarian but that changed when I found a career that I love, being a Receptionist/Daycamp Attendant at The Dog Loft. I always have a smile on my face and a very positive attitude. I fully and completely love every dog I meet and I can't wait to meet more of the wonderful pups that come to The Dog Loft!
Brittany- Canine Care
Hi, my name is Brittany. I have a beautiful Rottie, Lab, Shepherd mix named Harley. I've always had a passion for dogs and I've been working with them for four years now. I love my job because I get to know every single one of your dogs in daycare! I can't wait to grow a bond with your fur babies and treat them like they're my own!
Jill - Client Care
Hi, I'm Jill! I have always loved animals, but didn't experience the joy of having one of my own until I was 15, when I finally convinced my parents to let me get a puppy. Her name was Bella! These days you'll see me with my princess, Fefe, running around with her trademark pink ears! Dogs are my world and I can't wait to meet yours!
Reggie - Canine Care
Growing up as an only child was lonely until we welcomed our very first dog into our family, her name was Nikki. Having Nikki in my life helped me see how unconditionally loving and loyal dogs can be, and that has forever changed my life. Ever since Nikki, I've always surrounded myself with animals at home and at work. I've been working professionally with dogs for 6 years and I'm still as
excited and passionate as ever to learn more about them! Although I don't have my own dogs, at The Dog Loft, I love and treat them all as if they were my own.
Darien- Canine Care
Growing up outdoors with dogs all my life, I was ecstatic to receive my very own puppy for Christmas in 2007. Due to her having a single brindle patch on her white boxer body she was named Dotty. For seven years her princess personality provided me with so much love and light. After her time I traveled around the South-Eastern part of Manitoba working at a variety of seasonal jobs which landed me camping during the summer of 2017. This is when it was decided to take a trip to Winnipeg Animal services. Here my heart was captured by a German Shepard x St Bernard, who I affectionately named Timbit Teddybear Sunshine. He is my ultimate companion to do all the things I love, majority being our hikes, brain games and of course cuddles. However a portion of our time is working with his alter-ego named Nibblit. I enjoy working to see his achievements because he keeps my mind busy with strengthening my training and handling skills, the reward is priceless. No matter the task I'm always honored to be dedicating time and effort to improving the well being of others. I consider myself blessed to have learned the value of care-taking through loving animals. A value that makes coming to work fulfilling and exciting. I can't wait to gain your dog as a friend in daycare!
